| TECHNICAL | The Matisse Gold Reference Interconnect Cable has been
designed as a balanced twisted pair, utilizing solid core conductors of
silver clad high purity copper, with PTFE (teflon) insulation. The
basic parameters of design philosophy are based on highly detailed measurements
and empirical observations of how cables behave A4th respect to dielectric
and conductor materials used. We at Matisse believe that although
the use of exotic dielectric and conductor materials are advantageous,
they are essentially secondary in importance to the fundamental physical
properties of the conductor itself. The conductor used in the Matisse
Cable is critically dimensioned (0.6mm) solid core high purity copper with
silver plating. Through extended period of listening, we found this
to be more satisfying than other exotic alternatives like solid silver.
We also specifically prefer solid core conductors to multi-strand types
which can tend to introduce subtle glare to the sound and a loss of inner
details. The Matisse Cable is also designed for very high mechanical
integrity. The Cable geometry remains stable and is immune from outside
signal and acoustic interference.
